Nowhere KitchenMarie Capesius

(LUX)

Photography, migration , stories

As part of the managing team of Nowhere Kitchen, Marie has photographed the events and the people around Nowhere Kitchen since its inception. This photographic series was inspired by her fascination for ephemeral moments, rituals and celebrations around food, “leftovers” and stories, the sense of sharing and collaboration in times of precariousness.

Of French and Luxembourg origin, Marie moved to Berlin in 2014, where in the same year she met Pepe, the initiator of the Nowhere Kitchen project.

In 2016, she completed her Masters studies in Innovation and Change Management at Brighton University in England by correspondence. In her graduation thesis, Nowhere Kitchen is used as an example of a case study.

Since 2015, Marie studies photography at Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie and works mainly with film and in black and white. She is fascinated by movement and timelessness in images as well as the states of transcendence that these can transmit.
