Pomo d'Orographies II: a counter-cartography for Vevey is a collective counter-cartography exercise. The project focuses on the tomato as an ambiguous symbol of Italian culture, both omnipresent in its gastronomy and the result of a transcultural journey through colonial, migratory and commercial routes.
Over a light meal prepared with the participants, they will be invited to embroider on the tablecloth that serves as a map in order to reveal the multiple realities of tomato production and consumption, in Vevey and beyond.
This participatory performance aims to show the invisible and to weave links of solidarity, in order to underline the urgent need for alternatives in the face of climate change, food security and social justice.

Architect and researcher, Francesca Beltrame exposes the link between space and the politics of exchange and migration in the production of social inequalities, from a feminist and decolonial perspective. Through architecture and the development of public engagement practices, she proposes alternative modes of relationship. Her practice is motivated by spatial research and media experimentation, drawing on the concept of political ecology to understand the relationship between landscape and contemporary human conditions.
She graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Architecture in 2022. She presented her research in Ljubljana during the EU co-funded conference "Architecture and the future of the Planet" in the same year, as a LINA community fellow.
