Foreplay promotes the encounter between Food and Performance Art through the collaboration between a local chef and an international performance artist.

Through the period of one month, the two practices and universes meet, sharing studio and kitchen and developing together a special experience to be shared with the public: a dinner.

Now in its 15th edition, Foreplay has created many successful encounters and evenings around Europe. It has been inspiring to see how a familiar context, such as a dinner can develop a new audiences and bring it closer to the practices of art and food creation. For foodculture days, Foreplay touches subjects of the food crisis of our times, bringing a cross-over of Berlin based and swiss artists and chefs, Foreplay will provide two sensorial evenings, where your tastebuds but also your thoughts will be stimulated and challenged.

Benjamin Luzuy

High-end caterer, hype bars, gastronomic restaurants, tv shows: at just 30 years old, the “Swiss Jamie Oliver” has found the recipe of success. Overly at ease on screen, dynamic, curious and bright, Benjamin Luzuy is compared to the British star for his ability to democratize the gastronomy in a simple and generous way. Benjamin is a supporter of a uninhibited contemporary gastronomy from the capitals cities like London or New York which, to him mind, rejuvenates the Michelin’s guide codes.
Raised and brought by doctor and food enthusiasts parents in Geneva- he discovers as of age 6 the best chef tables in the region Romandie. At about 13 years old, he often goes to the market to garnish home-made pizzas and patiently stirs risotto for his elder sister and young brother when his parents are out.

Diego Agulló

Diego Agulló is an independent researcher and dilettante artist working mainly in the dance and contemporary performance sector and studying the subtle link between body and event. He was born in Madrid in 1980 and has been squeezing orange juice every morning. During his studies in philosophy, he focused on the themes of play, chorus and boredom. Based in Berlin since 2015, he inevitably discovers the world of dance and performance that he will never leave him. He has since developed, through various collaborations and in different forms, his work: performances, videos, participatory events, readings, books and workshops. Diego has organized participatory events such as The Waiting Room, 3AM and then CUE. The latter is a long-term project that asks the paradoxical question of how to organize the unexpected?

Diego's research framework is called "Theoros" . It attempts to create contexts for learning and investigation concerning the role of the body when putting theory into practice. He is interested in the intersections between education and art, dilettantism and professionalism. Artistic practice therefore becomes a means of practicing philosophy. He teaches at Smash intensive Berlinat AFFECT, Agora Collective, HZT and Universität der Künste Berlin.
