SEARCHING FOR OUR ANCESTORS’ DIETGENEVA UNIVERSITY’S ARCHAEOLOGICAL LABORATORY OF PREHISTORY & ANTHROPOLOGY

(CH)

Workshop, Research, history

Using interaction, a small movie and archeological finds, the “Searching for our ancestor’s diet’s” workshop will go from the archaeological dig of a tomb to the study of the individual to debate about his diet. On a more prosaic note, participants will learn to identify the pathologies discovered during studies on ancient populations diets. A survey will also allow them to situate themselves in regard to the various prehistorical diets.

A team of researchers from Genova University’s archaeological laboratory of prehistory and anthropology invites you to a fun workshop where you will learn how archaeo-anthropologists try to understand the eating habits and socio-economic conditions of ancient populations. With Jocelyne Desoderi (lecturer), Julie Debard (PhD student), Matteo Gios (technical assistant), Déborah Rosselet-Christ (master student) and Audrey Bridy (master student).
