“Shelling our practices" is an invitation to spend some time in an active listening and doing roundtable where we will clean and shell seeds while exchanging about food, art, research, agriculture practices. A translocal exchange to take apart and reflect on what does “Technologies of Mutual Sustenance” mean in the context of art and residency projects working with food and territory. It is part of Municipal Kitchen's program.

About the program Municipal Kitchen: 

Municipal Kitchens reimagines communal eating in cities. The exhibition gathers works by international and local artists and collectives that expose the current state and injustice of food systems, as well as ones that propose new forms of community-based eating. The artworks are accompanied by a weekly event program and free-of-charge communal meals, transforming the nGbK space – previously a fast food restaurant in a former market hall – into a public kitchen. https://ngbk.de/en/programm/programm/municipal-kitchens

About Cocina Colaboratorio (Mexico):
Colaboratory Kitchen is an ongoing mobile and on-site project that brings farmers, scientists, creatives and cooks together around the kitchen table to connect, exchange knowledge and prototype new trans-disciplinary solutions to farming; a test ground for ideas that conciliate land restoration, conservation, food production and better livelihood in farming communities. For Municipal Kitchen, Cocina CoLaboratorio will host a public gathering borne out of a weeklong slow-cooking process built on collective small actions of care, inspired by the plural languages of the Milpa (in collaboration with Satellit).
